WELCOME TO WESTONKA WHIRLERS
About the Westonka Whirlers!
Westonka Whirlers is a very active square dance club on the west side of the metro area, but our members are from all over the state.  Square dancing is all about having fun... and we've been doing it for over forty years!  If you're looking for a club, we'd love to have you join us.

Our regular dances are the third Saturday in September, November, December, March, April and May at Grandview Middle School, 1881 Commerce Blvd., in Mound.  Need directions? Click here for a map.

Our October dance is a special weekend dance in Bloomington (see special-events page for a flyer) and our January and February dances are on Sunday afternoon in Mound, usually at the Grandview Middle School.  The Tuesday after Memorial Day we host a special dance in at the Crystal Community Center with national caller Jerry Story calling and cuer Ken LaBau from Monticello.

Our club sponsors BLAST weekends for new people who want to learn to square dance and Square Dance ABC dances for beginners.  Visitors (non-dancers or prospective dancers) are always welcome at our dances--no charge at the door!  The "all-you-can-eat-finger-food" potluck buffet at every dance isn't to be missed!

In addition to dancing, we have a float in local parades, entertain at festivals or special activities, help groups learn to dance, attend plays or special events such as a Lorie Line concert, go bowling or hiking, and have game nights.

If you would like more information about square dancing or our club, send us an email, sqdance@ties2.net, or give us a call:  952-472-0006.  Membership is very inexpensive and yields a ton of fun!
